I write here as an amateur on subjects which I care about: friendship, art, sexuality, the city. But these are domains I am in no way master of and writing about them does feel a bit as if I am trespassing on other people’s intellectual turf.
Breach of close is an old legal term for breaking a man’s close, to wit, trespassing. Luckily in this particular case it is a tort without punishment; the worst that can happen is not being read.
